Carroll Hall is located on the far west side of campus. The only residence hall on a lake, Carroll sits near the southwest shores of St. Mary’s Lake, and enjoys stunning views of the Golden Dome and the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. The beautiful Carroll Lawn, often referred to as Far Quad, is home to Carroll’s very own sand volleyball court. Additionally, there is a basketball court nestled between the running trail and St. Mary’s Lake, just steps from the side door. It has been said that the basketball court was a favorite hangout spot of former Carroll resident and Notre Dame starting quarterback Carlyle Holiday.
